Advent’s hope is life changing.
Jesus, the promised Messiah came to earth to live among the helpless and outcast. Obedient to the will of God, he offered hope to the rich and poor alike. Jesus – the light in the darkness, testifier of the truth, and Savior for the lost. For those who choose to receive Advent’s hope, life is transformed.
Hope changes how God sees us.
God calls us his children. Since we are part of the family of God, we are his heir.
“See how very much our Father loves us, for he calls us his children, and that is what we are! But the people who belong to this world don’t recognize that we are God’s children because they don’t know him.” 1 John 3:1 NLT
Hope changes God’s focus.
The Lord watches over those who place their hope in him.
“But the Lord watches over those who fear him, those who rely on his unfailing love.” Psalm 33: 18 NLT
Hope changes how we see ourselves.
We join other Christ-Followers, acknowledging we are just travelers passing through the short existence of life and death on this earth, headed to an eternal life in heaven.
“But they were looking for a better place, a heavenly homeland. That is why God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them.” Hebrews 11:16 NLT
Hope changes our daily lives.
Celebrating hope fills us with joy, peace, strength, and courage.
“I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans 15: 13 NLT
Because Jesus’ power is so transforming, I hope you take the time to reflect on and accept Advent’s hope.
