Advent’s peace is life changing.
You see them everywhere. People who are stressed and searching for Advent’s peace. They pass by you and you know they have everything the world offers but are tormented by life’s challenges. You know of others who feel too unworthy to seek a relationship with God. Tell them about Jesus, the hope of the world, who came to earth to offer goodwill to all. For those who find and receive Advent’s peace, life is transformed.
Tell them about Jesus, the hope of the world, who came to earth to offer goodwill to all. For those who find and receive Advent’s peace, life is transformed.
Peace changes how God sees us.
God calls us his friend. Because we accept life through his Son, Jesus, we are no longer his enemy.
“I no longer call you slaves, because a master doesn’t confide in his slaves. Now you are my friends, since I have told you everything the Father told me.” John 15:15 NLT
Peace changes God’s focus.
The Bible assures us that God will help those who are on his side.
“What if the Lord had not been on our side? Let all Israel repeat: What if the Lord had not been on our side when people attacked us? . . . Our help is from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.” Psalm 124:1-2, 8 NLT
Peace changes how we see ourselves.
Privileged, we stand confident, waiting for the time when everyone will worship God.
“Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us. Because of our faith, Christ has brought us into this place of undeserved privilege where we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing God’s glory.” Romans 5:1-2 NLT
Peace changes our daily lives.
We see problems differently because we know God is in charge.
“We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.” Romans 5:3-5 NLT
Because Jesus’ power is so transforming, I hope you take the time this week to reflect on and accept Advent’s peace.
